A wonderfully naive early 20th century painting by Danish artist Anders Gudmundsen-Holmgreen (1892-1967) featuring a summer landscape of rolling hills of gold and green against a blue sky. Oil on wooden panel, signed. Framed in a painted gold frame.

CONDITION NOTE:
Very good vintage condition, with light signs of ageing and wear. Frame included has wear and tear, including some marks, paint scrapes, nicks and dents. Please see photos for details.

ARTIST BIO
Anders GUDMUNDSEN-HOLMGREEN was born 7/7/1892 in Copenhagen and died 7/31/1967 in Veddinge Strand. He studied at the Technical Drawing School in Copenhagen, a student of H. Grønvold; 1920 and 1924 at the Art Academy in Copenhagen. Study trips to Norway, Sweden, Germany (Munich) 1922-1923, Italy 1923, France 1928 and 1936, Italy and Greece 1958. Grants/awards Raben-Levetzau Prize 1916, 1918; Nathan 1947; Stat. Art Fund 1965-67. Numerous exhibitions followed, including at Charlottenborg Palace in 1915, 1917-1919. Today represented in Statens Museum for Kunst and in Københavns Museum.
