Antique Large French Olive Pot

Beautiful, very large 19th century terracotta olive pot from the South of France. Lovely aged appearance, with over 150 years of sundrenched weathering and remnants of original green glazing. The most wonderful addition to this pot is the old snaking repairs, holding together old cracks, and adding to the sculptural interest and appearance. It is inscribed with the date 1863 and signed by the artisan.

CONDITION NOTE:
Allover weathering and wear to the terracotta and glazing, including some chips, denoting its age and adding to its character. Wonderful old repairs to cracks using wire staples on 2 sides. Existing drainage hole at base of one side. Please refer to photos.
