French Mid-Century Rattan Sun Wall-Hanging

A gorgeous mid-century rattan sun wall-hanging originating from the South of France. This lovely large woven sun figure has a rounded dome surface and a smiling face, with an evident hand-crafted quality.

Wicker was particularly popular during the 1950s and 1960s in the South of France. It was highly fashionable to display wicker pieces outside and around stylish porches and swimming pools, among olive pots and beautiful sea vistas, giving effortlessly chic and relaxed Mediterranean vibes.

CONDITION NOTE:
Vintage hand-made item in good condition, with light signs of ageing and use. A few little marks and a couple of small splits to the ends of the sunburst arms, but not broken through.
