Mid-Century Abstract Painting by Hans Osswald
A mid-century abstract composition by Swedish artist Hans Osswald (1919-1983) entitled 'Polikrom Ide' (Polychrome Idea). It is a lively exploration of colour expressed as freeform blocks, overlapping and creating layers of visual texture and movement. A predominantly muted, earthy palette is offset with splashes of vivid primaries, ultimately balancing this engaging work. Oil on canvas, signed lower left. Titled and dated 1973 on label verso. Presented in its vintage gold-faced wooden frame.
