Original colour lithographic poster for the exhibition by Dutch painter and sculptor Karel Appel at Galerie Ariel, Paris from 17 April to 17 May 1969. The exhibition opening date and time is printed on the reverse side. Printed by the ARTE printing house, Paris on uncoated/offset poster stock. Professionally framed with anti-reflective U.V. glass.

CONDITION NOTE:
Poster in good vintage condition with light signs of use. As with many authentic original posters this poster was produced folded, so there are evident fold marks and creases. Colours have remained vibrant. Framed behind new U.V. glass. Please refer to photos for reference.

ARTIST BIO
Christiaan Karel Appel (25 April 1921 – 3 May 2006) was a Dutch painter, sculptor, and poet. He started painting at the age of fourteen and studied at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in the 1940s. He was one of the founders of the avant-garde movement CoBrA in 1948. He was also an avid sculptor and has had works featured in MoMA and other museums worldwide.
