  • A charming mid-century painting by Swedish artist Pär Lindblad (1907-1981) entitled 'Liggande Modell' (Reclining Model).

    Our female nude figure is of simple form, yet larger than life in character. She is reclining with hands behind her head in a relaxed pose, well defined from the backgound with skilful brushwork. A joy to behold, feelings of happiness are inescapable when viewing this work. 

    Oil on canvas board, signed, titled on verso. Presented in a deep wooden frame.

    ARTIST BIO
    Pär Holger Lindblad, born May 5, 1907 in Arbrå, Hälsingland, died July 14, 1981 in Gävle Staffans parish, Gävle, was a Swedish painter and sculptor. He was very productive as an artist and had about 30 of his own exhibitions and participated in collective exhibitions.

    His sculptures appear as public decoration in Gävle such as Solöga at Stigslundsskolan, Dog and cat in Sätra, Three bucks in Eriksbergsparken and Skogsblomma, Karlavagnen and Anhalten in Andersberg.

    Pär Lindblad's art is represented at the National Museum and the Modern Museum in Stockholm, the County Museum Gävleborg and at the museums of Örebro County Museum, Västerås Art Museum, Östersund, and others.
