ARTIST BIO
Hans Valter Sundberg, known as Hans W. Sundberg, born February 12, 1922 in Sankt Matteus parish in Stockholm, died November 10, 2004 in Gothenburg's Annedal parish, was a Swedish painter and draftsman.

Sundberg studied at the Technical School in Stockholm 1940–1942 and for Otte Sköld 1956–1946 and Akke Kumlien 1948 as well as during study trips to Germany, France, Spain and North Africa.

Sundberg debuted with a solo exhibition at Galerie Acté in 1947 where he showed images from his own world of fantasy and imagination, which was followed by solo exhibitions at Galerie Moderne, Sturegalleriet and Galerie Bleue. He participated in the exhibition aspect 61 which was shown at Liljevalch's art gallery in 1961 and in collective exhibitions on Bornholm. His art consists of paintings done in oil, lacquer paint, pastel and gouache. Sundberg is represented at the Institut Tessin in Paris.
