A beautiful large 19th century French gold gilt mirror with lovely decorative embellishment featuring flowers, acorns and grapes. This mirror has a stunning original sparkling mercury plate which is aged and foxed to perfection, and it retains its original backboards.

CONDITION NOTE:
This mirror features a distressed frame and mercury plate. It has a heavily aged and foxed mirror plate with some light scratches. There are losses and areas of wear throughout giving this mirror its wonderful character.

Most notably there is a historic repaired split to wood along the bottom right side. Along the bottom edge there is some loss through woodworm to an area in the centre and left corner. Historic woodworm is evident to frame and there is some loss to the backboard corners. As with all of our antique mirrors we have given this mirror a precautionary woodworm treatment.
