    A 1957 abstract landscape painting by Swedish artist Signe Lundqvist-Lanje (1912-2004) entitled 'Höstlandskap' (Autumn Landscape). Oil on canvas, signed. Reframed in a beautiful solid maple frame. Original exhibition label on verso.

    ARTIST BIO
    Signe Regina Lundqvist-Lanje, born September 15, 1912 in Våxtorp, Halland County, died in 2004, was a Swedish painter. She studied at Otte Sköld's painting school 1942-1943 and at Lena Börjeson's sculpture school 1944-1946 and during study trips to Paris and Spain.

    Lundqvist-Lanje exhibited in Falkenberg in 1949 and then exhibited separately in Stockholm, Malmö and Laholm, among other places. She has participated in the Halland Art Association's autumn exhibitions since 1946. A retrospective exhibition of her art was shown at the Drawing Museum in Laholm in 2005. She was awarded the Halmstad Culture Prize in 1995. Her art consists mainly of paintings made in oil and collage and tapestry. Lundqvist-Lanje is represented at Hallands Konstmuseum, Hallands läns landsting, Älvsborgs läns landsting, Statens konstråd , Halmstads kommun och Malmö kommun.
