A large, wonderfully vibrant modernist painting by Swedish artist Uno F Svensson (1935-1980) entitled 'Ormjägaren' ('The Snake Hunter'). Oil on canvas, signed. Dated 1967 and titled on verso. Presented in its original simple wooden frame.

ARTIST BIO
Uno F Svensson was a Swedish visual artist, born 1935 in Luleå, died 1980. He studied at the Art Academy. Svensson painted in a naive style. He had a primitive joy of storytelling with an attraction to the CoBrA Group - a European avant-garde movement. The CoBrA artists did not turn to museums or galleries for inspiration, rather, they looked to Nordic myths, children's drawings and primitivism. Svensson is represented in the Norrbotten Museum and the Stockholm City Museum.
