    A wonderful Swedish modern mid-century still life painting by Ture Pettersson (1919-2000). Featuring plants, it has a lovely muted, earthy palette of greens and blues with a distinctive naive style. Oil on canvas, signed, in original stamped frame.

    CONDITION NOTE:
    Very good vintage condition overall. Some signs of overall ageing and wear, including a small loss of paint and a bit of craquelure. Frame is original and has associated wear, with some marks, imperfections and little losses commensurate with age and use. Please see all photos for details.

    ARTIST BIO
    Ture John Gunnar Pettersson, born November 18, 1919 in Gothenburg, died June 22, 2000 in Gothenburg, was a Swedish painter and illustrator. Pettersson studied art at Valand's painting school in the late 1950s. Together with Georg Andersson and Bror Göransson, he exhibited at Olsen's art salon in Gothenburg in 1949. He was represented in Konstfrämjandet's exhibition in Borås and Eskilstuna in 1949 and in Ulricehamn in 1950. His art consists of figurative motifs, still lifes and landscape depictions in oil, as well as book covers and drawings for the magazine press.
