A lovely Swedish mid-century still life painting of a blue jug with lemons by Svän Grandin (1906–1982). Oil on board, signed and dated '65. Presented in a solid maple frame.

ARTIST BIO
Sven (Svän) Fritiov Teodor Grandin was born 1906 in Borås and died in 1982. Grandin first worked as a textile worker and sailor before becoming an artist. Grandin was self-taught and studied during trips to Paris in 1938-1939 and 1946. He debuted in an exhibition with Borås and Sjuhäradsbygden's art association's Autumn Salon in 1936 and subsequently took part in several solo and group exhibitions in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Skara. His art consists of floral still lifes , figure motifs and landscapes. Grandin is represented at the Borås Art Museum .
