Vintage French Double-sided Shopkeeper's Trade Sign

Lovely vintage French double-sided hanging shopkeeper's trade sign. Hand-painted in white onto a painted black metal sheet with scalloped corner detailing, riveted reinforced header and blacksmith-forged metal S-hooks for hanging. S-hooks are detachable so the sign could be hung in other ways.

This wonderful, unique and characterful handmade sign would have adorned the outside of a French general store. The approximate translation reads:
